KULATA TJUTA

“Kulata Tjuta" is the title of the selection of artworks that we can admire on this Cultural Wednesday at the Australian Embassy in Berlin. It consists of works by 14 artists from the Anangu Pitjantjatara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands, a vast area inhabited by Aboriginal people in the remote north-west of South Australia. This group exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the unique beauty and artistic diversity of contemporary Anangu art. "Kulata Tjuta" means "many spears", and when the Anangu speak of Kulata Tjuta, they mean everything that needs to be protected and fought for: Tjukurpa, Manta, Walytja - right, land, family.
