Stasimuseum

Have you ever heard the word "Stasi"? The Stasi was the East German secret police that monitored every movement of the East German population. Its official name is the "Ministry for State Security". Its main tasks included the surveillance and suppression of dissidents, guarding the East-West German border, collecting information on foreigners and various foreign missions. The Stasi was founded in 1960 and dissolved in 1990. Its headquarters were renovated and turned into a museum to give people a realistic insight into everyday life at the time. During a visit to the Stasi Museum, we can see the former offices and conference rooms, but also other objects and technologies that were actually used at the time.
