Wir waren Nachbarn (We were neighbors)

The permanent exhibition WIR WAREN NACHBARN in the Schöneberg Town Hall is dedicated to the biographies of Jews who had lived in the Schöneberg and Tempelhof districts.

The 159 biographical albums convey an impression of their lives. Conversations, letters, documents and photographs give new life to their memories, telling how they lived and worked in Berlin before having to flee the Nazi persecution or go underground. The albums also describe survival and life after the Holocaust up until the present day.

Join us next week and use an opportunity to learn more about such an important part of German history!
