Culture Wednesday: Kara Walker's exhibition

This Culture Wednesday we are going to the Sprüth Magers gallery in Berlin. There is an exhibition by the American artist Kara Walker. Her art adresses important and often difficult issues, such as racism, violence, and the role of women. She is showing new works in Berlin that were created using a new technique. These works are collages made from cut-out paper with bold ink and delicate watercolors. The artworks are very large and feel as significant as historic masterpieces. In the past, her silhouette works were mostly black and white. She now experiments with new materials and strong colors.
