Culture Wednesday: Europäisches Haus
West Germany was one of the six countries that in 1952 founded the European Coal and Steel Community in Paris, the first step towards the European Union. Near the Brandenburg Gate are the Representation of the European Commission in Germany and the Liaison Office of the European Parliament. At this location, anyone can visit a free permanent exhibition that informs about the main topics of the European Union. There you learn not only a lot about the politics of this special community but also about the lives of the citizens living in the 27 member states. In the exhibition, the interactive media stations offer a great experience, for example, you can take a seat in a 360° cinema as a member of the European Parliament!
