Culture Wednesday: Women in Senegal – The Burden and the Grace

We invite you to gain insight into West African culture through the exhibition Women in Senegal - The Burden and the Grace and to discover Senegal from the perspective of women. Cristina Zelenac, a passionate photographer, has been involved for many years with the Senegal Aid Association Senegalhilfe-Verein e. V. During her travels to Senegal, she has documented the lives of women in this West African country. The main focus of the exhibition is to highlight the strength of Senegalese women, despite the difficult living conditions they face. In Senegal, traditional and patriarchal values still play a significant role in society, often making life challenging for women. Yet, in the face of daily hardships, Senegalese women maintain their pride, authenticity and courage. Join us for an educational and artistic afternoon that will broaden your perspective on the role and resilience of women in another corner of the world.
