Culture Wednesday: König Galerie

There are currently two exhibitions on display at König Galerie. To give you a better overview of what you can look forward to, let’s briefly introduce each of them: The first exhibition, titled Fool for a Lifetime by Johanna Dumet, presents a playful combination of sculptures and oil paintings. This is the first time the artist is showcasing outdoor sculptures. Her work can be described as a colourful game full of unpredictable elements. Particularly impressive are her oil paintings, which are presented like giant tarot cards. The second artist currently on display is Stephan Balkenhol, with a selection of works centred on the human body. What makes his sculptures unique is the way he depicts everyday people in simple clothing, yet manages to imbue them with an air of mystery that invites personal interpretation.
