"Once again, the months I spent in the Rainforest of Peru are on my mind. Three months in Peruvian conservation area of Pacaya-Samiria are not the same as three months in Berlin. Both places seem very interesting, but some things are very different, such as the passing of time. I've returned to the 'modern world' almost a year ago now, but I still notice the different way that time operates here. The Boat has become the U-Bahn, the canoes have become cinemas. The Samiria River is now a motorway. Only the videos I took are left, reminding me that it's possible to live without a mobile phone, electricity and internet. That you can talk to someone who lives in the jungle for hours without being disturbed by a text message. In the film „Uña de Gato" I attempted to follow a man in his canoe, observing the rhythm of the rainforest. The film invites you to disconnect and switch off from the modern world, immersing you into the images and sounds of the rainforest and taking you on a journey through the Amazon.
