German as a second language - Course levels

Course levels

The Sprachenatelier course levels correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The basic level (beginners) consist of three modules (Grundstufe from 1 to 3: A1, A2 y B1). Every module has a duration of 160 class hours.

After the basic level follow the levels Mittelstufe 1' y 'Mittelstufe 2' (B2/C1) as well as 'Oberstufe' (C2).

Exams

Once the level B1 is passed, you can take an exam to acquire a European Language Certificate (Zertifikat Deutsch).

Once you pass the level Mittelstufe 2, you can make an Intermediate Level Exam (ZMP)

User Level Skills
Basic user A1 Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
A2 Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance.
Independent user B1 Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
B2 Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his field of specialisation.
Proficient user C1
Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning.
C2 Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
